Tomar uma atitude para punir ou fazer justiça por alguém que foi prejudicado, geralmente causando dano aos responsáveis.

Verbo formal, mais comum em livros, filmes ou histórias de vingança. Normalmente é usado quando alguém busca justiça em nome de outro. Não se usa para vingança própria ('avenge oneself' é raro); use 'seek revenge' para isso.
