ある事柄の上限や最大限を強調するときに使う表現で、それ以上にはならないことを示します。

話し言葉と書き言葉の両方でよく使い、上限を強調します。よく時間や人数などを限定する時に使います。'せいぜい'よりも柔らかい表現はありませんが、語尾や数量の後に置いて使います。
