Definition

मुड़े हुए ढांचे जो किसी जगह को पार करते हैं, अक्सर इमारतों, पुलों या दरवाजों में उपयोग होते हैं। कभी-कभी यह पैरों की गोलाई जैसी आकृति के लिए भी इस्तेमाल होता है।

अक्सर बहुवचन में कई संरचनाओं के लिए प्रयोग होता है, खासकर वास्तुकला में। मानव-निर्मित (पुल, इमारतें) या प्राकृतिक आकार (पैर, भौंह) दोनों के लिए इस्तेमाल होता है। 'Arch' एकवचन है। आम प्रयोग: 'stone arches', 'Roman arches', 'arches of the feet'।
