Definition
Un dispositivo o instrumento que mide la altitud, es decir, cuán alto está algo sobre el nivel del mar; se utiliza frecuentemente en aviones, senderismo o escalada.

Término técnico usado en aviación, montañismo o actividades al aire libre. Es común hablar de 'configurar el altímetro' o 'leer el altímetro'. No suele usarse en conversaciones cotidianas salvo en temas de altura o vuelos.
