Mencionar algo ou alguém de modo indireto, sem dizer claramente. Dá-se a entender ou insinua sem afirmar diretamente.

Mais formal ou académico. Normalmente vem em 'allude to'. Diferente de 'refer', que pode ser direto, 'allude' é sempre indireto. Usa-se para sugerir sem dizer abertamente.
