এটি এমন একটি পদার্থ যা জিনিসপত্র বা উপকরণ একসঙ্গে আটকাতে ব্যবহৃত হয়। এটি সহজে অন্য কিছুর সাথে লেগে থাকতে পারে।

'আঠা' সাধারণত দৈনন্দিন কথায় ব্যবহৃত হয়, কিন্তু 'adhesive' বেশি প্রযুক্তিগত বা কারখানাগত প্রসঙ্গে ব্যবহৃত হয়। 'Adhesive tape' মানে 'আঠালো টেপ'।
