অতীতে কোনো স্থান বা পরিস্থিতিতে কিছু অনেক পরিমাণে বা সংখ্যায় ছিল; প্রচুর ছিল।

এটি সাধারণত লেখালিখি বা বর্ণনামূলক ভাষায় ব্যবহৃত হয়। 'with' বা 'in' এর পরে ব্যবহার হতেও পারে, যেমন 'the forest abounded with birds'। কেবল অতীতকালে ব্যবহার করুন।
