Levar alguém embora à força, normalmente sem consentimento. Geralmente refere-se ao rapto ou sequestro de uma pessoa, especialmente de uma criança.

É formal e costuma aparecer em notícias ou em contexto legal. Combinações frequentes: 'abducts a child', 'abducts someone'. Só se usa para pessoas, nunca objetos. Equivalente a 'kidnap', mas um pouco mais formal.
