কিছু কঠিন বা বিপজ্জনক পরিস্থিতিতে শক্ত থাকাকে বোঝায়, যাতে কোনো ক্ষতি না হয়। কারো চাপ, আক্রমণ, বা কষ্ট টিকে থাকে।

'Withstood' সাধারণত চ্যালেঞ্জ, দুর্যোগ বা চাপের মধ্যে ব্যবহৃত হয়; 'endured'-এর চেয়ে একটু বেশি প্রতিরোধের ভাব প্রকাশ করে।
