Definition

口をすぼめて息を吹き、高い音を出したり、笛を使って音を鳴らしたこと。注意を引いたり音楽を奏でるときに使う。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

「whistled」は「whistle」の過去形。人や動物に使い、口や笛のどちらでもOK。「whistled at」は好意的にも失礼にも使われることがある。注意・合図・音楽に使うことが多い。
