涙や感情が内側から湧き上がってくることを表す表現です。特に涙や強い感情の場合によく使われます。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

「tears well up」は「涙がこみ上げる」、「anger well up」は「怒りがこみ上げる」と表現。詩的・文学的な場面でよく使われ、日常会話では少し硬い印象。物理的な満たされる状況には使いません。
