歩くより速く、走るより遅いスピードで進むこと。主に馬の動きを指すが、人にも使う。

'小走りする'は主に馬に使いますが、人や動物にもユーモラスに使われることがあります。'at a trot'は「小走りで」、'break into a trot'は「小走りになる」と表現します。人の場合はカジュアルな場面が多いです。
