Birinin ayağına takılıp düşmesini sağlamak ya da bilerek veya bilmeden hata yapmasına neden olmak.

Daha çok günlük konuşmada kullanılır; hem fiziksel olarak birini tökezletmek hem de sınavda kandırmak anlamında olabilir. Genellikle nesneyle ('trip someone up') kullanılır.
