水や何かが急激に、勢いよく流れること。比喩的に、多量の言葉や感情が一気に現れる様子にも使われます。
Usage Notes (Japanese)
自然の水流や豪雨に使うほか、「torrents of words」のように比喩的に多量な感情・言葉にも使う。ゆっくりや少量の流れには使わない。
