Definition

お墓の上に置かれる石碑で、通常は埋葬された人の名前や日付が刻まれています。

主に墓地や歴史的な文脈で使われます。「墓碑」や「墓標」とも似ていますが、「tombstone」はやや古風な響きがあります。
