"to little avail" in Japanese

何かをしたが、ほとんど成果や成功がなかったときに使います。つまり、努力があまり役に立たなかったという意味です。
Usage Notes (Japanese)
フォーマルな表現で、主に書き言葉やニュース、報告書などで使われます。よく 'but', 'tried', 'attempted' の後に続きます。'to no avail'（まったく効果がなかった）とは区別しましょう。'to little avail' はわずかな効果や成果があったという意味です。
