Geralmente vem seguido de um substantivo ('ameaçar com uma faca', 'ameaçar com punição'). Uso neutro ou formal. Só é usado quando se especifica o objeto, ação ou consequência. Não confunda com 'threaten to' ('ameaçar a fazer algo').
