"the other day" in Japanese

最近のある日、いつかはっきりしないが、あまり前ではない日のこと。

「この前」「先日」は最近で正確な日付を言いたくない時に使います。フォーマルな場面では「先日」が少し丁寧です。

The other day, I saw a movie with my friends.
