Definition

何かを勢いよく引っ張って、表面から剥がしたりちぎったりすること。急にその場を離れる意味でも使われる。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

日常会話でよく使われ、紙やラベル、服などを「剥がす」「引きちぎる」ときに使う。'tear off down the road' のように「急いで離れる」意味もある。「tear up」（細かく裂く）と混同しないように注意。
