비밀스럽거나 잘못된 방법으로 무언가를 바꾸거나 손상시키는 것. 주로 해를 끼치거나 조작할 때 사용됨.

항상 부정적인 의미로 쓰이고, 비밀스럽거나 불법적인 손대기를 뜻함. ‘증거’, ‘잠금장치’ 등에 자주 씀.
