Definition

地面にある物を踏まずに、足を上げてその上を越えること。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

小さな障害物や水たまりの上を越える時によく使う表現。『step across』とは異なり、広い空間を越える意味では使わない。『step over the line』や『step over the rope』などの表現がある。

Please step over the puddle so your shoes stay dry.
