型紙（ステンシル）を使って、絵や模様、文字などにペンキやインクを塗る方法です。同じデザインを何度も綺麗に描けます。

主にアートやDIY装飾に使われます。「stenciled letters」「stenciled flowers」などのように形容詞的にもよく使います。手描きとは違う方法です。
