한 자리에 서서 전혀 움직이지 않는 것. 또는 변화나 진전이 없는 상황을 의미하기도 함.

아이들이나 긴급 상황에서 자주 명령 형태로 사용됨. 'Please stand still'은 사진을 찍을 때 등에서 사용. 비유적으로 발전이 없는 상태도 표현함.
