主にカジュアルな場面で使われ、秘密や慎重さを暗示します。他人に気づかれないように近づく場面で使われることが多いです。いたずらっぽかったり、怪しかったりする表現にもなります。'to'とよく組み合わさる：'sidle up to someone'。
