向某人敬禮或表示尊重，特別是像軍隊一樣用手觸額頭的動作。也可以指以正式的方式向某人致意或致敬。

主要用於正式或軍隊場合；'saluted' 也可用來表示非軍事場合的尊敬。常見搭配有“saluted the flag”“saluted the officer”。不要和“waved”“nodded”等普通問候混淆。
