Olhar para algo ou alguém com atenção ou dificuldade, muitas vezes semicerrando os olhos.

Um pouco formal ou literário. Usado quando alguém tenta ver algo mais claramente ou com dificuldade (distância, pouca luz, etc.). Não confunda com 'stare' (encarar intensamente) ou 'glance' (olhar rápido). Comum em frases como 'through glasses', 'into the distance'.
