必要のない意見や無責任な発言をする人たちを指す表現です。元々劇場の安い席の観客を指しましたが、今は会議や集まりなどで余計な口出しをする人に使われます。

カジュアルな場面や冗談めかして使います。会議中の無駄話や邪魔な発言を指す時によく使われます。「peanut galleryからのコメント」は真剣に受け止めなくてもいい意見に対して使います。フォーマルな場面では使いません。
