Definition

道路の脇にあって人が歩くために舗装された平らな場所。一般的な舗装された場所も指すことがある。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

「歩道」はイギリス英語の「pavement」（アメリカ英語では「sidewalk」）にあたり、道路沿いの歩くスペース。車道や道路そのものとは区別して使う。
