Definition

擬態は、他者の動きや外見、音などを真似ることで、生き物が身を守ったり、周囲に溶け込んだり、または人を楽しませる目的で行われます。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

「擬態」は生物学でよく使われ、『完璧な擬態』『動物の擬態』のように表現されます。日常的なコピーや単なる真似にはあまり使われません。
