상점이나 기업에서 사고팔거나 거래하는 물품이나 제품을 말합니다.

주로 상업, 유통, 재고 관리 등에서 쓰이며, 전체 상품을 말할 때는 단수로, 종류를 나눌 때는 복수로 쓸 수 있습니다. 'display merchandise', 'return merchandise' 등의 표현이나 연예인 관련 상품(굿즈)에도 쓰입니다.
