使某人严重受伤，以致无法使用身体的某一部分，通常是永久性的。
Usage Notes (Chinese (Simplified))
较正式且略带旧式色彩，多用于战争或事故中导致的严重且终身的伤残。“maim for life”、“seriously maim”常见搭配。不用于小伤。
