호되게 혼내다심하게 야단치다

Definition

누군가를 매우 심하게 꾸짖거나 질책하는 것. 때로는 신체적으로 공격하는 의미도 있음.

매우 구어체적인 표현이며, 주로 말로 강하게 혼낼 때 사용됨. 실제로 무엇을 '준다'는 의미와는 다름.

When his son lied, his father let him have it.

아들이 거짓말을 했을 때, 아버지가 그를 **호되게 혼냈다**.
