잠긴 (걸쇠로)

Definition

문, 창문, 대문 등이 걸쇠(작은 장치)로 잠겨 있는 상태를 의미함.

주로 'the door was latched'처럼 문이나 창문, 대문에 대해 수동형으로 사용됨. 'locked'(자물쇠로 잠김)보다 덜 안전함. 비유적으로도 가끔 사용됨.

The gate was latched to keep the dog inside.

강아지가 못 나가게 대문이 **잠겨** 있었다.

Make sure the window is latched before you leave.
