Definition

কারো কাছে কিছু অপ্রত্যক্ষ বা সূক্ষ্মভাবে বলা, স্পষ্টভাবে না বলে।

Usage Notes (Bengali)

আনুষ্ঠানিক ও অনানুষ্ঠানিকভাবে ব্যবহার হয়। 'to' এরপর ব্যক্তি উল্লেখ করতে হয়। 'suggest' থেকে কম স্পষ্ট। ব্যক্তির জন্য 'hint about' নয়, 'hint to' ব্যবহার করুন।

She hinted to her friend that she wanted a gift.

সে তার বন্ধুকে **ইঙ্গিত করেছিল** যে সে একটি উপহার চায়।

Can you hint to John about the meeting?
