Definition

何か（特に食べ物）を暖かく、熱くすること。転じて、状況が盛り上がったり白熱したりすることもある。

食べ物の場合「残り物を温める」など。比喩的には議論や状況が白熱する時に使う。「話が盛り上がってきた」など会話でよく使う。

Please heat up the soup before dinner.
