慎重に考えずに非常に急いで何かをする、または頭から突っ込むように進むこと。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

無謀な行動や慌てて決断する場合に使われます。'rush headlong into'は「無計画に取り掛かる」、'fall headlong'は「頭から倒れる」という意味で使われます。ややフォーマルまたは文学的です。
