ইতিহাস ও সামরিক ক্ষেত্রেই এই শব্দটি বেশি ব্যবহৃত হয়। 'grenadiers' বলতে সাধারণত অভিজাত বা সম্মানিত সৈন্য ইউনিটকে বোঝায়। এটি গ্রেনেড অস্ত্রের সঙ্গে গুলিয়ে ফেলবেন না।
