Definition

峡谷は、川によって岩が削られてできた、両側が急な深い谷です。複数の谷や、まれに「むさぼり食う」という動詞の三人称単数にも使います。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

主に地理用語として自然の景観を表します。「he gorges on food」のように動詞としてはあまり使いません。「gorgeous」（美しい）とは異なる単語です。
