Definition

মানুষ ও প্রাণী বেঁচে থাকার জন্য যে জিনিসগুলো খায়, যেমন ফল, শাকসবজি, মাংস বা শস্য—সবকিছু যা খাওয়া যায়, তা খাদ্য হিসেবে ধরা হয়।

Usage Notes (Bengali)

'Food' সাধারণত গণনা করা যায় না; বলা হয় 'some food', 'a food' নয় (কিন্তু বিভিন্ন ধরণের হলে—'পুষ্টিকর foods')। 'fast food', 'junk food', 'seafood' ইত্যাদি প্রচলিত শব্দ। 'meal' (খাবার পর্ব) শব্দের সঙ্গে গুলিয়ে ফেলবেন না।
