Definition

炎は、火の中で目に見える明るくて熱い部分を指します。また、文学的には強い情熱や昔の恋人を意味することもあります。

『炎』は主に火の見える部分を指します。'open flame'や'burst into flames'などの表現で使います。昔の恋人は比喩的に'flame'と表現されることもあります。'火'（ひ）全体とは異なります。
