'Fever pitch'는 주로 스포츠, 정치, 큰 사건 등에서 최고의 흥분이나 긴장감을 나타낼 때 쓴다. 'reached fever pitch', 'rose to fever pitch'와 같이 표현함. 평범한 상황에는 잘 쓰지 않는다.
