आग बुझने के बाद बची हुई छोटी-छोटी जलती लकड़ी या कोयले के टुकड़े। अंगारे अब भी गर्म होते हैं और फिर से आग पैदा कर सकते हैं।

Usage Notes (Hindi)

अकसर बहुवचन ('अंगारे') में प्रयोग होता है। आग के साथ-साथ, उन अहसासों या हालातों के लिए भी रूपक में इस्तेमाल होता है जो घटना के बाद भी बचे रहते हैं ('गुस्से के अंगारे')। आमतौर पर 'जलते अंगारे' या 'आखिरी अंगारे' जैसे वाक्यांशों में मिलता है। खुली या तेज़ लपटों के लिए नहीं।
