Bu ifade, birine bir şeyi söylememesini istemek için kullanılır; genellikle hassas, bariz, gereksiz ya da rahatsız edici olabilecek durumlarda söylenir.

Genellikle arkadaşlar veya aile arasında, samimi veya şakacı bir biçimde kullanılır. Şaka, spoiler verme veya açık bir yorumu engellemek için söylenir. Ciddiyetle söylenirse biraz soğuk gelebilir.
