指（通常是名词）可以一个一个数的东西，如“苹果”或“瓶子”。在语法中，指有单复数形式的名词。

多用在语法、尤其“可数名词”与“不可数名词”的区分上。'countable' 只用于能分开计数的事物，不能用来描述不能单独计数的事物或人。
