カウンセラーとは、主に個人的、教育的、心理的な問題について助言やサポート、指導を行う人のことです。

主に学校やカウンセリング、法的な場面で使われます。'school counsellor'（スクールカウンセラー）などの表現もよく使われる。'councilor'（議員）とは異なります。
