‘Kozmonot’ terimi özellikle Rus veya Sovyet uzay yolcuları için kullanılır; Amerikanlar için 'astronaut', Çinliler için 'taikonaut' terimleri vardır. Daha çok bilimsel, resmi veya tarihsel bağlamda geçer.
