怖かったり心配だったりして、何かを手で強く握ったり掴んだりしたこと。
Usage Notes (Japanese)
「clutched」は急に強くつかむ時や、感情が高ぶった場面で使われます。「clutched at」は何かをすばやく掴もうとする場合に使います。普通に持つ、やさしく持つ意味では使いません。
