把字母写成大写而不是小写；还指利用某种情形获益或为某事提供资本（金钱）。

英式拼写为“capitalise”，美式为“capitalize”。在写作中，通常只给专有名词或句首字母大写；不要乱用。金融领域指注入资本或利用机会。"capitalise on"=利用（机会）。
