‘파란’의 비교급으로, 어떤 것이 다른 것보다 더 파랄 때 사용합니다. 드물게 더 슬픈 감정을 표현할 때도 씁니다.

주로 색깔 비교에 사용하며, 특히 'bluer sky', 'bluer eyes'처럼 많이 씁니다. 감정적 의미(더 우울함)는 잘 사용되지 않습니다. 'bluer than', 'even bluer' 같은 표현이 있습니다. 파란색 외의 색에는 쓰지 않습니다.
