Definition

구멍이나 통로, 파이프 등을 완전히 막아서 아무것도 지나가지 못하게 하는 것.

주로 물리적 막힘(배수구, 구멍, 출입구 등)에 쓰이며, 'with'(~로)과 함께 자주 사용된다. 사람이나 디지털 상황에는 사용하지 않는다.

The drain was blocked up by leaves.

배수구가 나뭇잎으로 **막혔다**.

He tried to block up the hole in the wall with a towel.

그는 수건으로 벽 구멍을 **막으려고 했다**.

Please don't block up the doorway.
